Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Arrival in Arusha

    We meet you at Kilimanjaro or Arusha airport and take you to your hotel. In the evening your guide briefs you on the days ahead and answers your questions.

    Overnight: Arusha hotel (your first night is on us)

  2. Tarangire National Park

    A two-hour drive to Tarangire. Elephants are easy to spot here, which makes it a great first park for children. Back at the lodge in time to relax before dinner.

  3. Into the Serengeti

    We drive over the Ngorongoro highlands to the Serengeti, with stops along the way so the day doesn't feel too long.

  4. Central Serengeti

    Game drives at the pace that suits your family: out early when the animals are most active, back for lunch and a rest, and out again in the afternoon.

  5. To Karatu

    A morning game drive on the way out of the Serengeti, then on to Karatu in the highlands for a relaxed afternoon.

  6. Ngorongoro Crater, then back to Arusha

    An early start from Karatu, just 30 minutes from the crater gate, to the Ngorongoro Crater. Down on the crater floor you spend the morning on a game drive, with a good chance of black rhino, lions and big herds of buffalo and zebra. After a picnic lunch we drive back to Arusha or the airport.
